TOI_AC112 vs TOL_AC111
I have been using the AC111's on my F-50, my Taylor K14ce BE, and have recommended them to other players who love the tension balance and tone. I thought I would try the AC112's on my Taylor 812, anticipating the same positive experience. The AC112's felt and sounded like a different string in a negative way. They were dead and scratchy sounding and were much much stiffer than I expected with the shorter scale guitar. Generally I love Thomastik strings. I use this brand on my archtops, basses, and classical guitars. The one experience with Plectrum AC112's was not good. Perhaps it was just a bad set!

Great and Great
Have a 000 Martin, and these are perfect. Very rich tone. Hard to describe. You need to try them. They feel and look beautiful. Press buy.

12's or 11's?
This string maker may do well by adding a phosphor bronze of the same line (may cost more). The low E .59 is huge! Be aware that if you have a string through bridge it can be difficult to get the string through (Lowdens). The 11's are good but more like ex-lights and the 12's are really light gauge (with a very large low E, even though the tension is still considered light gauge). Can be a rich sound, what would the phosphor bronzes be?? hmmm.

Not worth the money!
Not worth the money!!! I was surprised in the lack of volume and ring they were not as easy to play as advertised...I find the Martin strings sound better and 4 times cheaper.....

AWESOME!
I realize not everyone likes the same thing. This is especially true for guitar strings, different sounds, feel, gauges, etc. But if you like strings that can make a Yamaha sound like a Martin, that are easy to play, that last a very long time, have a great deep bottom and very consistent highs, and easy on the fingers...well you will love these. Yeah, they're pricey, but worth it. I played $5.00/set Martin Marquis for years, but never again. You won't regret it!

TI Plectrum 12's
Jackpot!! I previously had TI Spectrums (12's) on my Larrivee OO's. They sounded amazing but I wanted a little lower tension without sacrificing projection. The Plectrums were the answer! These are the most playable, comfortable strings I've ever played. Others who commented that they are perfect for small body guitars were spot on. Thank you for helping me discover these wonderful strings.

TI strings
I'm not much of a picker, but these strings DO seem to have a great tone and they keep the tension down, which makes things just that little bit easier on the fingers. I have them on a Larrivée D60SH. They just feel good.

Best strings for smaller guitars
These are by far the best acoustic guitar strings for small-bodied instruments. They turned my vintage Framus archtop into a totally different instrument. Well worth the money!

Super Strings
I play on a Luna Muse Parlor guitar playing a wide range of music, both using a pick and fingerstyle. These are by the far the nicest sounding strings for both techniques.

htomastik acoustic strings
By far the best strings I have ever tried, and i have tried almost every brand out there. These strings actually made my Martin guitar sound better and play easier. It's my choice of string from now on.

Product Reviews for Thomastik-Infeld Acoustic Guitar Plectrum Bronze Flat Wound/Bronze Round Wound Medium Light, .012 - .059, AC112
Great strings! They improved the tone of my 60s Martin 00-18 tremendously. I recently used them in a performance on this guitar and thought they sounded fabulous. A little pricey but worth every penny in my opinion.

TI Plectrum Strings
I bought a set of these because I too love TI's electric strings...and now I love their acoustic offerings as well. I play a rather delicate Larrivee and these strings just seem to be made for fingerstyling it. Most American-made strings tend to be generic and undifferentiated. Hand someone a guitar with the Plectrums installed and they will immediate sense the difference in playability and sound. Expensive and worth every pfennig...but, I would not recommend these if you're doing bluegrass, or banging away doing Le Pompe a la Django with a 2mm Wegen. Like my Larrivee, they just seem...well, delicate.

great Beatles vibe
I bought these as an experiment as I LOVE T-I electric flatwounds. I have an inexpensive but great playing acoustic (Cort Earth 50) and these strings sound GREAT. I am getting a early Beatles type sound from my guitar and I couldn't be happier. They are advertised as low tension and this is 100% true, my guitar plays very easily with them.

Plectrum Strings
For those of us who play a wide range of music on their acoustic steel strings guitars these strings do it all. Last longer, sound and feel better. They are superb on smaller bodied instruments and are far and away the best finger-style strings ever! For those of us who use finger picks you will be amazed by the response and attack of the smooth wound basses. Also they keep their promise of being kind to older instruments--let me know if it gets better than this.

Plectrum Acoustic Series

characteristics: soft sounding, low tension

"PLECTRUM Acoustic Series are soft sounding strings for acoustic guitar with low tension on the bottom end. The plain strings are made of brass coated steel, the wound strings have a silk inlay in combination with a highly flexible steel core. G string is polished bronze flatwound, A, D, and Bass-E are polished bronze round-wound.

A remarkable string that prompts comments like "I never knew a string like this existed!". The combination of lower overall tension, hybrid arrangement of flatwounds with roundwounds and silk inlays (for precise overtone balance) produces a beautiful, almost classical tone, with the warmth of bronze and the easy playbility of a fine set of jazz strings. And because of its low, evenly balanced tensions, Plectrums can extend the playing life of many fine older guitars with weak bracing and other special age conditions.

PLECTRUM are available for 6- and 12-string instrument.
