Superflexible

A product of Thomastik-Infeld’s continual innovation, Superflexible viola strings are in the middle of the evolutionary step between a solid steel core and the company’s advanced spiral multi-wire core design. Superflexible viola strings feature a braided steel core that vastly improve the strings’ elasticity and makes the strings more tonally versatile than conventional solid cores. Perfect for the discerning steel core viola player, Superflexible strings provide the tuning stability, durability and easy bow response of steel core strings but with a clear, more dynamic tone. Although the braided steel core allows for powerful projection, the strings do not have any of the harshness associated with some steel core strings. Superflexible sets are available for 3/4 and 4/4 scaled violas both with chrome windings on braided steel cores. Single strings in the 4/4 scale are also offered with chrome, silver, aluminum and tungsten winding options to customize a set to complement your instrument’s sound and your playing preference. Handwound, these full sized strings are available in light (weich), medium (mittel) and stark (heavy) gauges.
