Evah Pirazzi double bass strings
May 11, 2017
These strings are everything they advertise.
A very good hybrid string for the player who's involved in jazz and classical work and like most of us, has one bass which has to be great in both genres.
Compared to the Obligatos, they're a somewhat higher tension and have a 'tighter' feel for jazz pizz and they take to the bow very well. The Evah Pirazzi set is great on a bass that has a softer, mellower sound whereas the Obligatos, also a good hybrid, work well on a bass with that has a bit more midrange. On my bass, the Evah set took about a week of playing and tuning to 'settle in'. After that, they're great.
