LaBella baritone strings (light)
September 1, 2011
Love these strings for most baritones. It's true that the 5th string windings could be a couple of inches longer. Also, I like using the heavier unwound strings from the medium set for more punch on top.

Still, the best baritone set on the market that I've found.

It's true the 5th string WINDING does not quite make it through the tuning peg hole, but the core wire is plenty long enough, and it tunes up just fine. Most of the string's vibration stops at the nut, what little is left is still transmitted through the core wire. These strings are great and will mount on any guitar, string length is MORE THAN LONG ENOUGH, on every string, including the 5th.

Baritone Strings Too Short
November 20, 2010
I have a Martin baritone guitar. The scale is on the short side for baritone guitars. Nevertheless, the windings on the 5th string were not long enough to reach the tuning peg.

Baritone Guitar

"The baritone guitar is a recent development in modern acoustic guitar design. With a longer scale length (26"-29") and heavier strings than a regular guitar, it is usually tuned a Perfect 4th or 5th below standard guitar pitch."
