High C to accompany four string set on a five string bass.
November 30, 2019
Along with the four string pressure wound set, it blends in just fine. Nothing super about it, but nothing out of the ordinary either. Tension seems fine, a bit on the high side so I’ve cranked the truss rod some to offset that and keep lower action. I’ve had the bass tuned to drop D and it wasn’t to floppy or noisy/fret buzzy, right now it’s back up to standard E - C. Finger noise and feel for these strings is a bit different from standard rounds - a bit less finger noise and also perhaps a bit less fret noise. I’m quite satisfied with this string and the pressurewound set overall.
Pros
- Higher tension, good for plucking hand allowing for faster plucking . Adequate for drop tuning. Slap still has plenty of snap.
Cons
- None yet...

high-c string

If you like the pressurewounds and have a six string you have to buy the high c string separately. Don't fret though, because the string to string response is VERY balanced in both tension and volume. Great strings, even individually it appears.
