nice strings but not my preference
July 19, 2021
Bought a set of NanoWeb 80/20 12 to 53 as I couldn't get this gauge in the PolyWeb coating. The Nanoweb strings are okay but not my preference. I installed them on my 1990 Goodall Jumbo rosewood that I have had and played since new. Right off, the NanoWebs sounded thinner, more treble, more bite, less presence. But with amplification they seemed to have a little better articulation, with individual notes in various chord voicings more clearly defined. Played them for a week to let them settle in and for the shine to dissipate some. I will be searching for Polywebs in the future.
Prosfor me: good note separation and articulation when amplified
Consfor me: noisy thin sounding: trebly, not enough presence

I'm not one who often writes reviews on stuff... but I felt that the Elixer strings deserve a word of praise. These strings help generate the sound that I like from my acoustic and electric guitars; but more than that, the 'goretex' coating on the strings help them to last substantially longer. This coating also significantly helps to reduce 'string squeek' which can be noticeable when the guitar is amplified. As an additional bonus, the coating does indeed give these strings a very smooth and silky feel; I teach guitar, and I especially recommend these strings for beginners who are struggling with sore fingers. I myself play professionally and I practice hours daily and I use these strings exclusively. What more can I say?
Prosgood sound last longer smooth feel less string squeek
Consthey do cost a bit more

After years of trying different gauges and brands, I finally found the Elixir acoustic 80/20 NanoWeb .012-.053 set. I find it to be the best string for Acoustic guitars with under saddle pickups. I wouldn't recommend them for acoustics that are recorded or amplified with microphones but if you use your guitar through a DI, these are the strings that I think work great.
ProsTone. Comfort and play-ability.
ConsDue to the number of gigs I play, I restring my guitar once a week and that can get a little expensive but to me, they're worth it.

Customer service IS NOT EXTINCT!
January 11, 2014
Just a quick note regarding a previous order placed with JustStrings.com-I ordered a special offer of Elixir strings to receive a free Snark tuner that broke on first use. After placing a review, I was contacted by customer support (Peggy) offering to send me another tuner at no charge. It arrived, it works, I couldn't be happier!! Yinz guys ROCK!!

Coating wearing off
January 3, 2014
Had a set of these that came with my Tayor for 1 month when I noticed this strange fuzzy green mold looking stuff growing on them around the 2/3 fret (the ones I play the most). Elixir sent me some replacements (polyweb coating) but they did the same thing as the nanowebs after about a month of playing 15 min. a day. Apparently the coating can wear off and even though it does not affect the sound quality at all it just looks terrible. Switched to Martin Eric Clapton's and have had them on for almost a year now with no decrease in sound quality or playability.

I'm deducting a star because of the mentioned G-string breakage problem that seems to plague this set. My very first experience with these strings I encountered this problem on my Martin DCP3. Otherwise, I like the feel and sound of these on my Martin. Will probably just have extra/spare cheap phosphor G strings handy or may try a totally different brand like the D'Addario EXP 16's which I probably will since I have a set standing by when the present set of Elixer's go dead.

Simply the best!

The invention of this guitar string technology is by far the best thing that's happened to guitars since they invented guitars!!! :o) I've been using them since they first came out. As a long time player doing many shows and rehearsals, I used to go through strings twice a week, now it's twice a year! Yup, I like 'em! And JustStrings.com is THE place to get them.

Best Strings!
May 27, 2012
I do 3-5 gigs a week plus practice time. Lots of outdoor gigs in south Florida with sweaty hands. These are the best sounding strings for me plus they hold their tone and tune far longer than other coated or uncoated strings and I have tried many of them. More expensive to buy but cheaper in the long run. Very seldom have a string break. They feel smooth which reduces friction and finger soreness on long gigs.

I have lights on one guitar, mediums on another, and prefer nanoweb to polyweb.

As in any other piece of gear or instrument player preference varies but if you're trying new strings these should be at the top of the list.

I have purchased from many other places and find Just Strings to have the best prices, consistently fast shipping, and once when I needed it, friendly no hassle customer service.

Buy with confidence.

These strings are the best strings that I've tried. I put them on three different guitars - a fingerstyle small body (black walnut back/sides, Sitka spruce top), harp guitar (cocabola back/sides, Engleman spruce top), and a tricone metal body resonator. The strings sounded great on all three guitars. I put them in tune the first day, then let them sit overnight. Next day, they were still basically in tune, with no previous stretching/break-in period. They are bright and clear. They stay in tune the whole way up the neck, making it easy to use a capo. They've only been on the guitars about a week (I practice 4-5 hours a day), but they still sound great. I just ordered more.

Having tried just about every string made, these have the be among the best acoustic strings available. I prefer the nano to the poly, the coatings seem to hold up better over prolonged use. A friend recently was recently playing my Taylor's which always have these strings on them and commented, "ah, new strings!" I had to break the news to him that those strings at the time had seen at least 6 months of use. (note that I do keep my guitars in the cases when not playing but they still get plenty of use. I cannot find a better set of strings, period.)

The item was excellent. The delivery was as fast as I thought possible as I live in Australia. The selection of strings is amazing. I used a local string supplier in Australia to get some strings that I needed fast. They still haven't turned up and I was meet with average service. This was not the case with just stings. The service and communication was of an very high standard. I will recommend this company to anyone who asks and maybe some that don't ask. Thanks

Elixer Nano Lights
April 20, 2011
Im a pro player www.cocabananaband.com who plays hard and often. My hands sweat in the summer at our outdoor concerts.

I switched to Elixirs about 8-9 years ago as I changed my uncoated strings weekly....or after every 6 hours
A royal PITA.
Elixirs last at least 4 times longer maybe even 6 times.

However, I replace the G string as often as a stripper as it fatigues and looses it resonance .
I buy the G wound singles from Just Strings (inexpensive) and replace it when it sounds funky.
The new G blends in nicely with the other 3 Elixirs strings.

Here's to Mother Music!!(Salute)

The price at Just Strings is the best deal "in town".

These are the only strings I use. They never seem to rust even on the areas where your fingers most commonly sit. Occasionally the G string will snap (funny enough, I have never snapped any of the other strings) however this isn't that common and I have had the same set of these strings on a guitar for over a year and only replaced them because I felt it was about time.

I have tried many different brands of strings on my Taylor 514ce and have found the Elixir's to be the most comfortable and longest lasting string of the bunch! Purchasing them through JustStrings.com adds to the value. Thanks

These strings are the only ones I use. I have for so many years. The brightness of the string remains much longer then any other I have ever used. This was a great deal which makes it affordable to buy strings in bulk. Your service is quick and I was completely satisfied with my order. Keep up the good work as I will remain a faithful customer. I will recommend these strings and you to all my guitar buddies.

I agree with all the reviews. The price and convenience makes this a good way to go. The delivery was quick. I have used these strings for years and I don't intend on using any other. They are bright enough and the sound quality remains way longer than any string I have ever used. Please continue with what you are doing, as I will remain a faithful customer. I will recommend them and you to all my guitar buddies.

Ive tried them all. Martin, D'addario, Ernie Ball and everything in between. Elixer nanowebs are the only strings I will use on all of my guitars (epiphone masterbuilt aj500re, Taylor 714ce custom, Alvarez PF90sc, and a few other yamahas) These strings last the longest and defiantly sound the best. I will admit that I have broken some in the middle of a song but its been when I'm really going to town strumming hard. D'Adarrios don't break as often but the sound quality is incomparable to elixirs. I don't like the polyweb because the coating is too thick and they don't sound as bright and full. I use the bronze and phosphor bronze depending on which guitar I'm putting them on but you cant go wrong with either. Buy them, you will not regret it!

I'm using them on a Rainsong. I have tried several other brands, my favorite being Adamas, but Elixir is the only string that brings out the quality sound of the Rainsong.

They don't sound worth a flip on my '65 D-35, though. The Adamas do.

"Every time you play your guitar, tiny bits of you are left to invade the windings to contaminate your strings and kill your tone. Elixir Strings are the only strings that keep dirt out of the windings by coating the entire string. Our ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating provides a bright, lively tone that players tell us lasts longer than any other string, uncoated or coated. This means you buy fewer sets of strings, change them less often and trust your guitar is ready to go whenever you are.
