Outstanding strings!
December 29, 2020
I put these on my Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass and love them. The sound and feel are fantastic. I find the feel very smooth and the sound very warm, bright for a flat, and nice. I've had these strings on my bass for over 3 years and they have settled in nicely. I'm planning on keeping them on and buying another set in case I break a string.

Tried them, not for me
August 11, 2015
I tried out the Slinky Flatwounds just to try something new. I came over from D'Addario Chromes and the Ernie Balls. In comparison, these are more like half rounds in their feel---in fact they felt very much like D'Addario half rounds. The Slinkys do sound very much like round wounds, but I think if I was going to go this way, I'd just stick to rounds... The feel is not smooth like the Chromes or other flat wounds, and they are not bad, but do not expect that slippery feel of other flats. My fret fingers stuck on the strings worse than rounds, and when I play with a pick it's like picking a file---pick is gone in a song or 2. If you're a finger player, it won't be so bad, but again, I don't see the flatwound "feel" benefit here. Sorry Ernie Ball, they sound pretty good, but not for me.
