2.0 Ultex Jazz III's
June 12, 2015
These picks are not at all what one would expect if they had played with Ultex picks before. They don't have the same texture or rounded edges the other Ultex Jazz III's have and most importantly they have a completely different tone. For a pick that is not only apparently made of the same material as other ultex picks, but is also 2mm thick, it has a very thin and bright tone and a very noisy attack.

They are great. A bit too thick but they sound great. They would be even better if they had som grip like on the max grip picks.

Very good picks. Not much to mention though. Dunlop says they are a little darker sounding than the standard Ultex Jazz III's but actually they sound a lot brighter. Nice for (of course) jazz, fusion and pretty much any style of playing.

4 stars, because it is not absolutely flawless. I like Ultex, but found the Dunlop Ultex Sharp 2mm is too large in my hand for a thick jazz "pluck" tone pick. The 2mm Ultex Jazz III is a better size for the application, and super-grippy. I might try the 3mm, but am looking at these: http://www.juststrings.com/vpk-spgp.html
