DR Strings Bass - Sunbeam Tite-Fit Nickel Short Scale, .045 - .105, SNMR-45

Good for slap, pick, finger style.

I can't thank the bass player enough that recommended these to me the first time! This are just the best roundwound strings I have every tried. Great warm sound and good articulation, balance and feel.

Same great tone as the long scale

I went looking for similarly- gauged set to replace the strings that were on a gently used short-scale 2018 Gibson SG Bass I had just bought, and this DR set was a match. The wrap is a little more aggressive in texture than niclkel D’Addario but I like it and it suits the SG’s character. The tone across the set appears as good as I’ve found.

These strings were recommended by J. Clark at your organization who was also was very helpful by sending contact information for both DR Strings and D'Addario strings to assist me in making a comparison. Great customer service as usual! I followed his recommendation to purchase the DR strings and am very glad I did. These strings are of excellent quality, sound fantastic, and are perfect for my 31" scale Marleaux bass. The sound and playability are just what I was looking for. I highly recommend these strings to short scale bassists who want great tone.

I have used Highbeams for years but they didn't work as well on my new shortscale SX. Juststrings is the only place I can find short scale Dr's too. The Sunbeams had more tension and sounded great. Not quite as sparkly but they still have enough hi mid presence to cut through. They don't last quite as long as highbeams, but they don't take so long to break in, and they still last longer than any other nickel string. My biggest complaint is that there is only one size for shortscales.
