Review
I use these strings on a johnson 1/2 scale acoustic resonator bass guitar and maton 1/2 scale acoustic wooden bass guitar. These are loud strings acoustically and when plugged in pretty hot on the magnetic pickup on each bass. When they lose their brightness they get deep which is a bonus. The super soft scale can do most styles (electric slap, rockabilly slap, normal finger playing, mute with thumb, chords). Consistent voicing too.

EXL220
Been using these strings for many years. Only problem is they lose there brightness after a gig or two. Great tone, brightness and feel. Hold tuning extremely well. I like my strings to maintain the new piano like tone. Been trying some different brands lately but have not found any that sound or play any better. Maybe the coated strings are the answer. I am about to try some DR black beauties to see if they will hold up to the D'addario benchmark I have in my head.

Great Strings
I use these strings on a Fender AmStd Jazz Bass, and they are fantastic. They are easy on the fingers and still produce a great tone. I play all styles, and they work great for all. And they are a bargain at this price.

"Popularly priced XL nickel round wound bass strings are wound with the same nickel-plated steel alloy as XL round wound guitar strings. Today's XL string specifications are the culmination of years of experimentation by Jim D'Addario and John D'Addario, Sr. Even now, D'Addario's sound room is crowded with different electric bass guitars for experimentation with different string specifications and for quality tests on string production. The XL series of D'Addario's broadest and largest-selling line of electric bass guitar strings, with 18 different string models offered. Many models are available in both environmental and standard packaging."
