Quiet!
April 3, 2018
The D string's playing noise is nearly as quiet as the G string. The A is a bit louder, and the E a bit louder than that. However, all the wound strings are MUCH quieter when it comes to extra noise than the equivalent regular wound strings. Worth the big price markup? You decide. For normal practice, maybe not. If you are performing with a mic, I think definitely. If you just don't like that extra noise and you aren't good enough to not do it, probably. I think the set is better balanced than the regular ProArte, which are very good strings, but perhaps less bright and snappy. I primarily play jazz mandolin, however, always with flat wound strings, so what do I know? I don't want my low strings to ring like bells.

My favorite string. Minimizes squeaks and excellent tone. Well worth the price.

The low E on this set snapped after a few days--these strings are too expensive to self-destruct so soon.

Great strings!

Bought these strings at the recommendation of a professor. They really stop the squeak sound that most roundwound strings get, but still have the bite of a roundwound. Perfect, albeit expensive. Definitely my favorite strings from now on.
