I like these strings! Just strings price is right!!
Just strings' price was great!! I like the distinctive sound that flat-wounds offer...more like a stand-up bass. I also like that they make no "noise" when sliding from one note to another on a single string like round-wounds do. I played a friend's bass that had these strings and had to get for myself!

I like these strings!
Played someone else's bass with these strings and wanted them on mine...I like that they make no "noise" when sliding from one note to another on the same string. I like the distinctive sound they make too. More like an old stand up bass.

Great if not for balance
This string set sounds so great until you are playing fast and suddenly the D string trips you up because it is more "resistive" than the others. Really annoying. Otherwise, I get a sound from Chromes that no other flat gives me... I wish they sold singles and then I'd put a 55 for the D string.

D String Too Tight!!
This set drives me crazy when I am doing solos or fast walking bass... going to or from the D string to any other string always screws me up. It is way too tight-feeling! Harder to pluck and harder to fret. So obnoxious. Other than that, the strings all have great tone and feel, but they need to be better balanced. I'd think D'Addario would understand this.

DAddario strings
I have used these strings for years. Excellent strings. This is the first time I bought them from just strings.com I don't know if there is a shelf life on them but the strings appeared to be aged although in a sealed unopened package. I have used the .045 - .100 size but these are much better for my setup, twin Ampeg stacks and a Rickenbacker bass. The larger size puts out to much bass for my style.

Chromes all the way!!
Chromes give you the best of both worlds; flats and clear tone. I have the ability to cut through with these strings and haven't found another flatwound to do this.

Awesome
Best sounding flatwound I've ever used. Makes my fretless howl.

"D'Addario Chromesâ are crafted with precision flat (ribbon) outer windings and polished to a fine high luster, but this bass string's tone is not typical of most flat wound strings. By creating under-windings and core combinations that vibrate freely, D'Addario has been able to develop a flat wound bass string that has a true, clear sound while offering the advantages of a smooth exterior winding."
