Very Disappointed With These Strings

I have been using Thomastik strings for years, but only their swing flatwounds for electric guitar. The Spectrum strings are supposed to reduce finger squeak. They don't. They are hardly polished. Spectrum strings are supposed to be warmer than other bronze strings. They're not. These strings are not any better in tone or feel than D'addario Flat Tops Phosphor Bronze strings, but they cost $10 + more. I can't believe it myself, but these strings just do not deliver the kind of quality I expect at that price.

Too much finger squeak. No different tone than other phosphor bronze strings

I completely agree with the 'best ever for a couple of weeks' review. When new, they sound magnificent on my Collings D2HG. They even got a remark from my wife in the other room. They really did sound different than any other string I've used over 60 years. Alas, that sound was gone after two weeks. They are still mellow but without the resonance I first heard. I'll try another set to see if they all fade fast, but if they do, it's back to Pyramids for me.

They Bring out the Woody!

These strings will bring out the woodiness in your instrument - or if your instrument is not woody - these strings will make it woody - it's like they're made of wood : ) Seriously - these are not like normal phosphor bronze strings - the silk inlay process and overall construction will bring out the gypsy jazz/django tonality in your guitar. If you dig that idea you will DIG these strings. If you like bright jangly, nondescript tone - these are not for you.

Best ever -- for a week or two

Put a set of Spectrums on my 3 year-old Gibson Southern Jumbo.... and was bowled over by the fabulous, warm vibrant tones that exploded out of the guitar. The new strings turned a very pleasant sounding instrument into a guitar to die for. For the next week, I was blown away by how wonderful the guitar sounded every time I picked it up.

Well.. that only lasted for a week or two. Now those strings sound just OK at best. I'm going to leave them on for a while, see how they do. I've had strings actually get better after a month or more on the guitar. Of course, I know they won't sound like brand new again.

These strings are very expensive, but they are the best I've ever heard ... for a week or two. If I was a professional, I wouldn't be using anything else.

Excellent strings for my Collings dreadnought. They have the best highs out of all the strings i have used. The mediums are very light,lighter than most. A stiffer medium string would really help drive a dreadnought. These strings sound better than any string out there.

Excellent strings, a bit stiff if you're used to light/mediums.
Rich full sound on my Crafters of Tennessee Studio Magogany.
They last for a long time. I used the light gauge on my Taylor 422.

Thomastik Infeld Spectrum Bronze Acoustic Strings

My Cort acoustic/electric guitar is "pick-y" about the strings I use. It rewards me with the best and most satisfying sound when I take the extra effort to find and use Thomastik Infeld strings.....specifically the Spectrum Bronze series in the Medium weight (13-56).

I've been using TI strings for years (when I can find them) and I've always been pleased with the quality and tone. Thanks, Just Strings, for making them easily available online when the most touted music stores nationwide fail to carry them on their shelves. Their loss!
