High Quality Bass Strings
April 1, 2020
I'm a big fan of these high quality bass strings. While I use them on my electric basses there is a connection to what you would consider top of the line symphonic strings for orchestra.
They are bright and feel good on your fingers.
Good sound. Well made and easy to play. The gauge is on the thinner size and not what you would probably want if you wanted really big and beefy strings.

Dont be hesitant to try these strings at any skill level!!!

You will most likely need to adjust your neck and bridge to make them work right because of tension and string diameter changes from your old strings. I was using GHS bass boomers and then D'Addario XLs for a few years. Will probably never switch back.

Technique changed slightly due to tension characteristics, but these are incredibly dynamic and expressive strings. Currently have been using them for rock, grunge, country, punk etc and they are awesome!

Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Roundwounds

These Jazz rounds are as beautifully crafted and musical as the famed TI Jazz Flats. They provide the immediacy of roundwound attack, whilst remaining warm enough to compliment your use of TI flats on your other basses. They are very slinky, needless to say, but in a seemingly impossible way, they retain the firmness you need to dig in. They're round and loud, too. Frankly, Thomastik Infeld are nearly a miracle. I use these on fretless along with flats, and find them both unexcelled. In fact, NOTHING comes close. You WILL need a couple of weeks to adjust your technique; do NOT give up. You will become a better player, simply put. I would not use another brand. I can't wait to try their other models.

Amazing. Actually as good as the best reviews said they would be. Very easy to play, no buzz or wobbliness, like some reviewers feared from the low tension, very resonant, full sound and very even across all four strings. The string noise is incredibly reduced but there is some fine grit to them, not a feeling of flatwound, so you still get that contact feeling/grab. I can play longer and get no soreness and can also play passages at speeds that were not possible before because I don't have to work as hard and can direct that energy toward movement rather than pressure. Liberating.. won't go back! My friend saw them and right away bought a new TI set for his guitar:) I read one guy said that after he put on these strings, people were asking about his bass. He said it was actually the strings. I love my Fender Jaguar, it is perfect, but these strings made it that much better. Many thanks to JustStrings.com for having and knowing the particulars of this set!

I'm glad to participate. I'm a great fan of Thomastik-Infeld strings, both for bass guitars and upright electric (NS Design) basses. These round wounds were an experiment for me, to replace the Thomastik Acousticore phosphor bronze strings provided as original equipment on a Turner Renaissance acoustic-electric bass guitar, mainly because I get more string noise from the Acousticores than I am used to. In the end I went back to the Acousticores because the Thomastik-Infeld nickel round wound strings have a considerably higher tension than the Acousticores and I didn't want to risk long term damage (e.g. potential warping of the neck) from the increased tension.

I use the flats on my P bass and these on my jazz bass. These are the finest strings you can buy. Very flexible , windings are tight but the string is supple. Perfect string to string balance. If you play w/ a light touch and good plucking control you'll love them, not sure if you have a heavy handed attack.
