One of two console tuners made by Snark, the SN-4 is an all instrument, including the guitar, chromatic tuner. It will detect any note you play with its internal microphone or with the ¼” input jack from your own piezo sensor. Tuning by ear is made possible with the electronic pitchpipe that produces reference tones (C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A#) from a built-in speaker. A “Tap Tempo” visual metronome defaults to a 100 beats per minute tempo or you can create your own by tapping a button to the tempo you desire or by using an up and down button on the back of the tuner. Pitch calibration defaults to A440Hz, but can be adjusted to between 415 and 466Hz.
The SN-4 uses two AAA batteries (included) which have extended use with a “Power Save” feature. The display dims with five seconds of no sound detection, returns to normal brightness when a note is detected and shuts off when no notes are detected for two minutes. This tuner measures 2”h. x 3 ¼” w. x ½” d.
