Great strings but...
April 28, 2022
I've been using SIT since the late 80's. Love the strings, but quality seems to be slipping a bit (hence the 4 stars). Over the last year I've had a few bad sets and several sets with bad A and D strings. They won't intonate properly due to a "warble." They have dark spots (corrosion?) on them whereas they never did before. Even at these low prices it's very disappointing when you get a bad set. I play a lot of gigs with my band and I change strings weekly, so a bad set is frustrating. I will still use them though, they last longer than anything else I've ever tried.
  • Last a long time and stay in tune better than other brands. Also easier to intonate when all the strings are fresh and free of corrosion.
  • Bad sets happen occasionally. They also have bad A and D strings sometimes. They have corrosion on them out of the pack.

(Stay In Tune) !!!

Ive been using SIT’s for years. Classic Rock, Blues, Americana…Best bang for the buck. I play everyday and they stay in tune. The tone is consistent and lasts even with my heavy handed playing. I’ve tried many of the big name strings and these remain to be my go to brand. I’m never let down by SIT strings. Just Strings has the best price going for this brand, as well. Great brand.. Great distributor of strings!!
  • Cost per pack, Tonal consistency, Tuning stability, Feel, Life span!
  • Not really a deal breaker but the strings have always been 2 to a sleeve in a 6 pack. I sometimes lose track of the string being used next. I imagine individually wrapped would add extra cost. So I really can’t complain.

I've been using these strings for several years. I play professionally and these strings hold their tone and stay in tune. I play a lot of Blues Rock, so I'm bending strings all the time.!!

Best Strings out there!
January 17, 2021
Been playing for over 45 yrs and used every imaginable brand. All the cheap ones and all the really expensive ones. Expensive strings are not any better than the most out there. But these SIT really stay in tune better, last way longer than most and sound every bit as good as any other string out there. I use the Power Wound on my Les Pauls, 10's and the Power Groove Pure Nickel on my Tele's. Compare to EB, D'A, GHS, Dunlop or Roto's and see for yourself. I don't even go near coated strings or NYXL cause the cost does not justify the sound or playability. And coated strings don't last any longer or sound better than uncoated strings. Just all hype to get you to pay more for something. Remember the Helix strings? Not around anymore cause it was all hype!

Stay In Tune

These SIT's are better strings than ones costing 3 times as much.(can you say Elixir). I play a Rick 330 & a Tele. The chime, volume, consistency, and extended wear make these my only strings. At these prices there is no excuse for not having 2 or 3 spare sets. They do not break and they keep a resonance to them longer than any other string I've used. BEST BANG for the BUCK.

The best out there for the price.

I have a Gibson Custom shop EDS-1275 with a 12-string neck that seemed to disagree with every brand of string until I discovered SIT. The 6-string neck is fitted with the complimentary 10-46 Power Wounds, and now the whole setup rings like a bell, stays in tune and to top it off, has noticeably longer playable life than anything else I've tried. These are also fitted to 3 other electrics I own, and I'm more than happy with the string's performance on all of them. You've won me!

All I can say is nice strings defiantly better than many low cost brands out there! Put them on my test mule Epiphone G-400 with Maestro Lyre and it does seem to stay in tune a little better than EB's.

Excellent string for the working pro.

My all-time favorite string for about 12 years was the Ernie Ball Slinky 10-46. In 1999, I reluctantly tried the SIT Power Wound 10-46 when no EBs were available. I haven't looked back since.

These are great sounding, long lasting strings for a ridiculously low price. They work well on a variety of guitars, but they especially shine with Fender Telecasters. You won't believe the warm, steely chime these suckers will give you on a Tele. Much richer than a pure stainless string. I typically get about 3 to 4 more shows out of these than I do out of the Slinkys and rarely break them, even with heavy bending. Check them out.

I've been using these strings over 15 years. From time to time I've had to use oher brands in an emergency as I had run out of my bulk stock levels.

You can't compare these strings with any other. They are extremely superior!

They are tite, They stay in tune and they last 3 times longer than any other string. I use a stainless steel pick. It kills other brands - SIT strings last longer!

The Company

"When the S.I.T. Strings Company was started in 1973, we wanted to be different from any other in the industry. Extensive marketing and large sales were never our primary goals. Due to the fact that we both had a love for the guitar and music, the company always reflected our enthusiasm for change. And change is what this company was based on, never being content with the standards of everyone else, but always striving for a higher level. By creating and inventing things that had never been thought of before, S.I.T. has always made strings that change things.

Quality control was also a major concern, and it was discovered long ago that only caring machine operators could be permitted to construct musical instrument strings. Each and every piece had to have the individual attention of the engineer, and our strings are still made this way today.

After S.I.T.'s humble start, it was not long before professional and amateur players alike were demanding the product on an international scale. Since that time, we have grown by leaps and bounds, and are always looking for ways to create new products and improve old ones.

S.I.T. is committed to, as well as thankful to, the musicians who made us what we are. We will always strive to stay the most progressive string company in the world.

Why not inspect our strings closely and prove this to yourself? Stop by for a free factory tour, and see them made while you wait.

The improvements and innovations have only just begun, and as we move into the next century there will always be room for improvement. We invite you to be a partner along that journey with us."
