Absolutely Great Strings!
I've played bass professionally for 30 years and I've tried most every major brand of string. I always came back to D'Addario thou I used DR's for a while. I never tried SIT's, I had it in my head that they were a "cheap" brand. This was fueled by rarely ever seeing them in a music store or mentioned by artist in Bass Player. Finally at the Dallas Guitar Show I picked up a really nice Low End Jazz Bass. Loved the bass and equally dug the strings. To my surprise they were SIT's. I now use them on ALL my basses. 4 and 5 strings, active and passive, even my acoustic bass guitar! I've never been able to use 1 brand on everything before! The tone is wonderful, somewhat like D'Addarios but with a sweeter, more controlled top end and a bit more focused midrange. The bottom is a bit more taught, great for slap and finger style. I rarely use a pick but works there also. I've turned numerous people I know on to them and so far everyone that has tried them has switched. At this price you Need to give them a try and see if they work for you!

Gibson Ripper Bass
String through body requires me to use extra long scale .For a bass string still made in the USA, this one Rips! Bought this set and was very impressed with the sound and quality. Stays in tune as advertised and will be adding this brand to the top of my list. Won't find a better quality bass string at this price.

New old favorite
I bought a G&L bass straight from the factory a few years ago and remembered how much I loved the stock strings. Looking for a new string after Fender bass strings dropped in quality, research showed that G&L used to use SIT. I am going to faithfully stick to them for both guitar and bass. They feel good, last and somehow really stay in tune better. The fact that they are low cost should embarrass some other string makers charging twice as much for equivalent product.

SIT Nickel Strins
Love these strings on my G&L basses. Really brings them to life for Pop rock Alt. music. I use them on my 80s and 90s G&Ls and love the sound. I have pulled off lot's of other strings and replaced with these and they are the best for my application. They do stay in tune for a remarkably long time. I don't like how brite they are at first but they calm down after a week or so of playing.

The Company

"When the S.I.T. Strings Company was started in 1973, we wanted to be different from any other in the industry. Extensive marketing and large sales were never our primary goals. Due to the fact that we both had a love for the guitar and music, the company always reflected our enthusiasm for change. And change is what this company was based on, never being content with the standards of everyone else, but always striving for a higher level. By creating and inventing things that had never been thought of before, S.I.T. has always made strings that change things.

Quality control was also a major concern, and it was discovered long ago that only caring machine operators could be permitted to construct musical instrument strings. Each and every piece had to have the individual attention of the engineer, and our strings are still made this way today.

After S.I.T.'s humble start, it was not long before professional and amateur players alike were demanding the product on an international scale. Since that time, we have grown by leaps and bounds, and are always looking for ways to create new products and improve old ones.

S.I.T. is committed to, as well as thankful to, the musicians who made us what we are. We will always strive to stay the most progressive string company in the world.

Why not inspect our strings closely and prove this to yourself? Stop by for a free factory tour, and see them made while you wait.

The improvements and innovations have only just begun, and as we move into the next century there will always be room for improvement. We invite you to be a partner along that journey with us."
