It can be cost prohibitive to experiment with double bass strings. Over the years I've tried gut, nylon, the tried and true Spirocores, Helicores, Corelli, etc. I find the Jazzers to be most similar to Spirocores. They have a wonderful growl, and beautifully long sustain. They work well with magnetic pickups, and while I don't bow often, they seem to bow better than Spirocores. They last a good long time and are my favorite strings by far.

Best strings for arco/pizz switchers
Been using them for years after trying all the other major brands. They are perfect for those of us who are constantly switching between pizz and arco.
