What happened?
May 3, 2021
I've been using these strings for many years on all 3 of my electric guitars and I loved them. I did my usual order of 6 packs and noticed the new outer packaging. The inside looked the same but the strings are not. The first E string in EVERY PACK unraveled from the bead. It happened on all three guitars. I replaced these strings on all three guitars with DR Tite-Fit 9's and none of the first E strings have unraveled. I will miss the tone and feel of the original versions of these strings but I will not purchase them again.
None.
Not reliable. First E unravels from the bead rendering the string useless.

New style 9/46 Strings in black envelope
March 9, 2020
Well they did more then simply change the color of the envelope and turned the best strings made into crap.
I been using these for at least 8 years and never had a problem with them. They changed the formula and
made the cores way too thin. They twist lengthwise much too easily and even after doubling my string height
they still buzz.
I put the first set on and I couldn't intonate the low E. It was way too flexible. and had bad fret buzz. I figured
OK one bad set out of so many, I can live with it. Second set all the wound strings were buzzing badly.
I had one older set to compare them too and its obvious the cores and the wraps are different.
They are NOT the same strings
They used to be the best string on the market for tone, durability you name it.
These are garbage now. Labella needs to take the advice of a pro whose
been in the business as a luthier and a performer for the past 55 years and
recall these junk strings. I realize as a manufacturer you sometimes have to
change vendors. Labella often had rust and corrosion in the strings before they
started sealing them in plastic a few years ago.
The older sets provided perfect intonation and zero problems besides a longer breaking. Now I cant even used
them. I don't mind having action a little higher but when I have to jack the height
up nearly double there is a serious issue going on only the manufacturer can fix.

One of the better made strings . These strings have the correct core sizes so they intonate properly. They maintain their fairly bright Steel tone much longer then most other brands. Even when they get worn they resist breakage and still sound good.

Couldn't find better strings. Always stay in tune. Best for Floyd Rose players. Thanks!
