La Bella Flatwound Stainless Steel Strings Heavy .015-.056 20 PH
June 15, 2011
I've used these strings for 15 years! Tried all other available brands...but noticed that they all had some undesirable effect...usually the "dull thud" factor in the basses ....lack of defined attack......or in one [very expensive brand] a lack of what I would call, magnetic properties.. Result: lack of balance between wound and unwound strings...for me, no use at all. Soooo....I have always come back to the La Bellas for their clarity and power of sound. This is all very subjective but I will not change brands again...as long as La Bellas keep being made! PS I recently found that the distributor in New Zealand [where I live] was not going to continue with LB's...I freaked and contacted the good folks at Just Strings and was delighted to find that they stock 20PH's...got a few sets...Whew...thanks guys.

La Bella Flat Wound Electric Strings
January 7, 2011
I own a Buscarino Monarch Seven String Guitar. I buy these strings because the La Bella people also wind the seventh string (.80) as a flat wound string for me. The sets are always balanced, vibrate in a tight arch which allows me to bring the string height down and last a long time. They age well and when the plain strings are played out, a extra 1st and 2nd string they provide is greatly appreciated. I also use their medium gauge on my Gibson L5C.
Great strings.
These professional Jazz Guitar Strings are made to fit archtops and hollow-body guitars, therefore are NOT suitable for standard solid body guitars with 25.5” or 24.75” scale like a Stratocaster or Les Paul model.

Wound length of each strings is 36″ (distance from ball-end to silk); only the silk portion should wrap around the tuning post

Flat Wound Stainless

"The original set design for electric guitar, the Flat Wound Stainless series are the first ribbon-wire wrapped strings. Developed in 1940 by La Bella, these strings are manufactured for all types of electric pick-ups. With a high magnetic content for increased electronic output, their smooth surface eliminates finger noise and string squeaks. Flat Wound Stainless sets have a very bright sound, a smooth feel and a long playing life. They are the first choice of many Jazz, Pop and Country guitarists."
