Reliable and versatile

These strings are on all my basses. I get a nice fat sound for straight ahead jazz, book shows, etc. when Im playing acoustic bass parts on electric. They also can give the zing Im looking for when playing pop and funk. Great for slapping and the taper cores sustain forever.
Consistent. Been playing these for 15 years or more and very satisfied. Price compatible with other good strings. I tried all the major string brands but none delivered the sound I needed.
When I get really busy these strings last me six to eight weeks. YMMV. But I?m not a guy who never changes strings. When these strings get old they lose the top and bottom end; very ?midrange-y? and I find myself twisting the tone knobs more to find the sound I want. This is not a ?con? for me, just my experience.

Perfect gauge and length for all my basses. taper wound is great for all types of bridges. They sound bright and powerful and i like the purple silk at both ends.

I just wish that juststring had a subscribe option so i wouldn't have to remember when to order more. LOL

Great on Fender and Ibanez 5 strings

Love these on my Fender American series 5 string basses. They are also the only string sets I can achieve perfect intonation adjustment with on the B and E strings of my Ibanez BTB basses that use the monorail Iv bridge saddles. Any other string including the Elixers that Ibanez OEM's with will be a couple cents flat on the B and E strings with the saddles moved all the way forward.

Ken Smith Taper Core Medium Strings

These are the best strings to use if you have a Ken Smith Bass since Ken sets his basses up with them. Great strings, I'll never use anything else on my Smith.
