Love these

As a beginner, I don't have much of a comparison, but these feel, play and sound wonderful. I did need to bring my new MIM Fender in for a setup (I don't trust myself yet) in order to intonate the E string, but YMMV.

I bought these for my squier jazz and I love them. They give you great flatwound, jerry jemmott sound, but you still have some of that round wound zing.
My only complaints are that they feel a bit sticky when they are new.
Also the difference between the A and the D string is very noticeable, the E and A being warm and the higher strings having a lot of zing. However both of these go away if you play them for a couple days.

Slick bass strings

I was told about these strings by the guys at the 12th Fret in Toronto when I went looking for a replacement for the Dean Markley Ground Round Wound strings I had been using since the 70's (discontinued, possibly because once you have a set you could just leave them on ... for years .. and they sounded great. These are the same idea and just as good. I wish the medium set was just a bit heavier on the E and A but they fill the void.

Nice balance between rounds and flats. I would like a heavier G & D string - being picky, no I use my fingers.

I love the tone and feel, way less finger noise but still bright and punchy.

Extremely good strings. They allow me to play with fingers, pick, or slap style. Anyway you play them they have more characteristics than any bass strings I have ever used.
