Great sound and break in nicely
January 1, 2022
I used these several years ago abd decided to go back to them. They intonate easily and have great tone. They don't have the sharp ping of some stainless strings, which I like. They are very easy EQ to your liking. I recommend them. The tension is less than some strings so you may have to adjust the truss rod.

Love them

Quality strings

Ken smith rock masters stainless is a quality string that last. Out of the package they are on the bright side, but tone down after a few hours of play. They cut through nicely for live performances. I've been using this type of strings for at least 20 years
Cuts through for live performances Needs about an hour to settle down. A bit twangy out of the package.

solid and punchy

rock masters are my go-to string on most of my 21 basses (i use elixir on fretless). they're punchy and bright without the harsh unpleasant clank of rotosounds. i do experiment with other strings, just to stay on top of what's out there, but so far nothing beats rock masters.

Best Strings on the Market
August 13, 2015
I have been a faithful Ken Smith string user for 23 years now. And even though they are sometimes near to impossible to find in stores where I live I can still purchase online. They Sound amazing and last damn near forever. Can't even remember the last time I broke a string. My last set was on my Jazz bass for 10 months performing 3-4 nights a week. Maintain their sound for an extremely long time. Do yourself and your bass a favor and play Ken Smith!

The best strings I have used ever!
They stay brighter longer than any other that I have used and I don't believe I ever had one break, unlike ghs string that I used to use. I have used them now for over 15 yrs and will continue until ken smith surpass themselves. I use .045-.105.

Great Strings!
December 7, 2009
My Father left in my possession a Mustang 500 Bass. I have no clue how old it is! I believe that he had it before I was born 19 years ago. 3 of the 4 strings snapped on me, right now I do not have any money to buy the D, A and E strings. Sometime in the near future, I am going to be coming into some money. I will need to buy all four strings, including 2 extras for if the strings snap on me again.

Wishing you the best,

Stephen Downey
