Perfect for Violinists & Mandolinists. As well as ideal for playing along in Choirs
January 28, 2022
Now those Violinists who play the Mandolin as their 2nd instrument can also play the Tenor Guitar as their 3rd instrument by using a set of strings designed for the tuning they're familiar with. This Tuning also makes it easy for Choristers to strum while they sing because most of the Chords of songs in the most common Keys only require 2 fingers. Add a capo & transposing gets easy.
  • Ideal for Violinists, & Mandolinists for an easy transition. Also perfect Choristers so they can sing & strum at the same time.

John Pearse Tenor Guitar 8/20 Bronze 450L

I used these strings on 2 tenor guitars to convert to GDAE tuning and that are perfect for the job. Nice deep rich sound, perfect tension, and easy to play.

I repair stringed instruments and had a tenor guitar in for repair. The string set arrived quickly and worked/sounded great.

Perfect for GDAE tuning
June 12, 2020
These won’t work for CGDA tuning but for ‘Irish’ tuning, GDAE, they are absolutely spot-on in terms of string tension, feel, and tonality for a Martin-type (23 inch scale) tenor guitar.
  • Great tone, intonation, playability.
  • While they don?t last longer than other uncoated strings, they do come with a little packet of string cleaner which seems to work and extend their lifespan for those with corrosive hands.
Very happy

Nice quality strings that dramatically improved the depth and volume of my BR-60T Blueridge Tenor guitar. Includes a wound A string which adds a lot to the tone of the open A. Also includes a string wipe for maintenance.

Used these on my Ibanez AVT1 Parlor Tenor Guitar. Strings aren't sloppy like you would if you tuned them with Banjo Tenor strings. They aren't as tight and bright you get when originally tuned to CGDA. Strings aren't sloppy but wished the tension was just a bit tighter.
It has a very nice warm mellow tone. I don't know if it's my guitar or the strings but when playing the A string no matter what fret, it gives a fantastic reverb and sustain that goes on forever. Reminds me when playing the violin, when you hit the correct intonation on one string it makes the other sting beside it vibrate giving that pleasant ring.

Tuning of John Pearse tenor guitar strings
February 5, 2015
This is a heavy-gauge set for those who would like to tune a Martin-scale tenor guitar down to GDAE, the tuning used by Irish traditional tenor banjo players. They're good for that, but not for standard CGDA tuning.
