Pure nickel
November 29, 2020
After trying numerous strings I have settled on the pure nickel. They have the tone I seek when I play with a light touch and when I play it hard.
They last pretty good and I play everyday for a few hours and play out frequently. I Change strings every two or three weeks on average not from loss of tone so much but because the winding on the strings take a beating and it doesn?t matter what brand of strings I use, I just play hard and a lot. For me it?s all about the tone. They are never stocked in a regular music store but most stores don?t stock mandolin strings anyway so as long as I can have them shipped to my home and I keep a few extra sets in reserve I will be ok.

These are what are on my new Montana Lutherie mandolin and so far they are performing well. They are in my top 3 so far. Still more to try.
A very nice sounding string. Wish there was a little more bass.

I usually use Eilixer strings but read where Sam Bush used pure nickel strings so I thought I would give these a try. Excellent tone make my mandolin Weber Diamondback sound great. See to last a long time been on a month and haven’t lost any volume or tone. They also stay in tune with hard playing.
Excellent tone, longevity None

I was looking for an alternative to Bronze-Phosphor Mandolin strings and stumbled onto these
Nickle GHS strings from the guy I bought my '84 Kentucky KM1000 from. Love them, long lasting & they sound great

Excellent feel with these gauges. Warm and full tone and volume balance all over the neck. These strings last for several months and stay in tune and keep their tone better than any string i've ever used on a 2012 Stanley A5. They don't just go dead at once and it's not easy to decide when to change them.

Won these from a Mandolin Cafe giveaway. They are hands down the best strings I have ever put on my Eastman, I was a D'addario player but wasn't happy with the tone or quality of the strings. These strings sound very woody and have an even sound through all 4 courses of strings. 10/10 would recommend and I will be buying more.

They feel good and sound great! Very woody tone, no metallic sound at all. Sound great on my Hutto
