I admit I was a snob about electric vs acoustic string manufacturers. Then I read reviews on the Laurence Juber strings and bought a set. These strings are beautiful, clear rich sound, soft action (bending and tension), and they are perfect for my Martin D-28 because they are bright but not overly, and the Martin is bass heavy and slightly soft in the high end. These strings make my Martin sing !! Try them, they are at least the equal to any strings I have used.

The LJ20X are a perfect fit for my Taylor K14ce. I have tried over 10 different brands and styles, and these bring out the right balance of the Englemann top with the dryer koa back/sides. For my other acoustics I stick with D'Addario Phos Bronze 11-50s (EJ26?), but they don't sound as warm and round as the LJs on the Taylor. The wood and metal need to compliment each other. Highly recommended if you are looking for a sweeter, slightly more mellow sound. These strings also last a long time for me.

I was looking for a lighter gauge string to use on my new ladder-braced short scale L-o style guitar. This set turned out to be a bit too bright for the ladder bracing. Since they are designed as fingerstyle strings, the basses are lighter than in other brands of .011 sets. For this guitar and my playing style, they are too flexible---my finger pressure raises the pitch and creates havoc with the intonation. I also tried these on a different guitar with standard scale and x-bracing, and they were still too flexible and too bright for me. If you have a very warm sounding guitar and a light touch on the strings, they might be just right for you.
