"Brite Flats" describes them perfectly.

I use these string on my fretless Rickenbacker and am very happy with them. Unlike D'Addario Half-Rounds, they feel "natural" and don't grab at your fingertips very much. The tone is noticeably a flatwound kind of tone most of the time. You have to dig in to get that snarl to come through, making these sound indeed very much like rounds. I love the fact that they are Alloy 52, giving a slightly more interesting tone to my ears than nickel or steel flats. Between the material and the construction, these strings are winners.
