Ernie Ball Acoustic Guitar Strings
Ernie Ball acoustic strings are available in several varieties: Earthwood 80/20 bronze, Earthwood Silk & Steel, Earthwood Folk Nylon, Acoustic Slinky phosphor bronze and Coated Slinky in both 80/20 bronze and phosphor bronze. Ernie Ball acoustic guitar strings are made with the freshest and finest raw material, and are then hermetically sealed at the factory to ensure that your strings are just as fresh when you open them as on the day they were made.
Ernie Ball Earthwood 80/20 Bronze acoustic guitar strings are available in gauges from .010 - .050 to .013 - .056. Earthwood 80/20 bronze Ernie Ball acoustic strings are made from 80% copper, 20% zinc wire, which is then wrapped around a hexagonal tinned steel core wire. These are the most popular Ernie Ball acoustic strings, and they produce a bright, ringing sound with pleasant overtones. Ernie Ball Earthwood Silk & Steel sets come in .010 - .050 gauge and feature a special silk winding in between the wrap wire and the core wire that makes these string sound beautifully soft and mellow as well as easier to play. They are usually used on smaller guitars, or when extra ease of playability is required. Ernie Ball Earthwood Folk Nylon strings are ball end nylon strings designed for folk guitar.
Ernie Ball Acoustic Slinky phosphor bronze strings are available in gauges from .010 - .050 to .013 - .056. Slinky Acoustic strings produce rich, deep bass and bright, clear treble. Phosphor bronze is an alloy combination of 92% copper, 7.7% zinc and .3% phosphor and when used in music strings, it produces a string with clear tone and with warm overtones. Phosphor bronze is less bright than 80/20 bronze, but it holds its unique tone a bit longer.
Ernie Ball coated 80/20 Acoustic Guitar strings have a coating of proprietary enamel on all the wound strings, as well as special rust-resistant plating on all the plain strings. The Ernie Ball acoustic plain strings are all reinforced with their patented process of winding titanium wire around the lock twist at the ball end. This makes them highly resistant to breakage.
The Coated Phosphor Bronze Ernie Ball acoustic strings use their own special proprietary enamel coating on all of the wound strings, as well as rust-resistant plating on all the plain strings. The plain strings are all reinforced with Ernie Ball’s patented process of winding titanium wire around the ball end’s lock twist. This makes them less likely to break. The phosphor bronze strings are wound with an alloy of 92% copper, 7.7% zinc and .3% phosphor. This combination produces a rich, clear tone with good overtones.
