I have been using these strings for many years. I like the way they feel under my fingers, and I love the way they last. Compared to regular strings, these last 2-3x longer without loss of tone. They maintain their crispness and clarity for a long, long time. I play a variety of solid body electrics and these sound great on all of them. IMHO, well worth the extra $$$.
Long lasting Great tone Silky smooth feel None!

The plastic comes off, and they don't sound very good anyway.

I can rub though the windings on a D string in short order, because I do a lot of heavy handed bends, and even make sounds by tremolo bending on a single fret, so the plastic on these doesn't stand a chance! I am better served buying uncoated strings, for less money, and changing them a lot more often. The tone is also lacking on these. I got a whole bunch of these in a guitar case with a used guitar. I am giving them away. That is how much I like these. I don't really like them very much, at all. I must have gotten 20 or 30 packs of these and some other "coated guitar strings". FYI the guitar was a Japanese Epiphone Elitist ES335 1963 copy-ish guitar made in the Terada factory for Epiphone. The arch is not as pronounced on the Japanese Epi as it is on a real 1963 Gibson ES 335. The rest is pretty spot on, except the Epi has a catalyzed polymer finish. I got another handfull of these strings with a Carvin , hard tail Strat style guitar. Those were ancient, and plastic was literally falling off of them.

Hello!! I've try these for a year. To my surprise, what a string! I'm quite pleased. I have these on my Custom Telecaster with 12 pole Hum-Bucker's at the neck and a Hum-Bucker Bridge Hot-Rail. Makes my Tele scream. Love it - just ordered three more sets. Good tone, stays in tune, never broke. Highly recommended!! Thank you Just Strings. You're the Best! Best wishes, Jack

A good string, but for me no cigar.

First, this review has nothing to do with string life. I also want to preface that Elixir electrics sound better on another guitar I have (Taylor T3) than other strings I've tried.
I just finished an in home shoot out. Contenders were these, D'Addario and Fender 3150L (pure nickel). I was going for gauge, and D'Addario doesn't have pure nickel in this gauge, only plated, and Elixir doesn't state what these are made of.
D'Addario pure nickel have slightly smaller bass strings.
For the comparison, I changed strings after a few days so they still all sounded very good.
These were third place to the Fender. The Fender were clearer above the 12th fret and I am guessing because of the bullet end (am using a Strat), on the string there was sustain. The Elixir were not as defined as either of the other two for chording.
Again, this is a very good string. I choose the Fender because of perceived clarity above the 12th and overall sustain.

Tried these (11-49) on a 335 and loved them. Just got a new Tele and tried GHS Nickel Rockers. Took them off and slapped on the Elixirs. Perfect! Reduced finger squeak, mellower tone and feel great! I bumped up the b to a .012 and the e to a D'Addario .095 and everything fell into place nicely. Life is good.

Elixer Nano's

Amazing strings! I do session work and changed strings before EVERY session - it was one variable I could take out of the equation. I tried Elixirs on acoustic and was shocked how long they stayed bright, so tried them on electric. I am amazed! I have gone several days of recording on ONE set!

I really like these strings...The tension is somewhere between .009 and .010's and they have a nice steely sound. They have a great tension for tremolo...the best I have ever used.
I am a stickler for intonation...and the intonation around the 5th to the 10th fret was horrible...no matter how I adjusted my bridge saddle...I could not get consistent intonation. Oh well...

For clarity, brightness and longevity, these strings are my favorite. Just Strings has the most affordable I've seen yet. Thanks for the great customer service and speedy service!

I was a d'addario fan for a while and I tried a set of elixir nano extra light and I love the tone. I am a mechanic during the day and it's hard to get your hands spotless. The nanos lasted longer and held tone longer. I also have a more controllable sustain. Just strings is where I've always bought my strings. It's also cool they throw a few picks in. I'm sold on elixir

great string
September 13, 2010
For years I played Ernie Ball super lights, I needed a string that was light gauge with good tone. After using Elixir's on my acoustic I decided to try the electric strings. The strings last, but with great tone and playability. They are well worth greater price even if you decide to change strings weekly. Get a set and give them a play, you will want another set.

I used to be a dyed in the wool Ernie Ball fan until I got a set of these strings. To say they kick ass is an understatement. They last forever. They clean up easily and once they settle in they stay in tune for a very long time without needing to be re-tuned constantly. To truly make me happy I would like to see your company offer 10-42 set. The set runs 10-36 on the first 5 strings with the low E being a .42.

"Whether chicken-pickin', slingin' the blues, or rockin' the house, Elixir Strings Electric Guitar Strings deliver!

"Every time you play your guitar, tiny bits of you are left to invade the windings to contaminate your strings and kill your tone. Elixir Strings are the only strings that keep dirt out of the windings by coating the entire string. Our ultra-thin NANOWEB Coating provides a bright, lively tone that players tell us lasts longer than any other string, uncoated or coated. This means you buy fewer sets of strings, change them less often and trust your guitar is ready to go whenever you are.
