Elixir Acoustic Guitar Strings
(Elixir Strings are only available for shipment to addresses in the United States, U.S. Territories & Possessions, APO/FPO destinations and Canada.)
Elixir acoustic guitar strings last three to five times as long as regular, uncoated strings. When you use Elixir acoustic strings, you don’t need to buy strings as often, you don’t need to change your strings as often and you can be confident that your guitar is always ready to play. Elixir strings are the only strings that have the entire string coated, rather than only the wrap wire. According to Elixir, this process helps prevent corrosion and dirt from accumulating in the spaces between the wrap wires.
Elixir acoustic guitar strings are available in three varieties: 80/20 bronze with Nanoweb Coating, phosphor bronze with Nanoweb Coating and 80/20 bronze with their original Polyweb Coating. The Elixir Nanoweb 80/20 bronze strings have a bright, clear tone and retain the feel of regular 80/20 bronze strings; these are the brightest sounding Elixir acoustic strings. Elixir Nanoweb phosphor bronze strings have the rich, warm tone of traditional phosphor bronze strings. Their Polyweb 80/20 bronze strings have the warm, mellow tone of strings that have been played for some time. Elixir acoustic Polyweb strings are very smooth, and can help reduce finger noise. They are the mellowest of the Elixir acoustic strings.
Elixir 80/20 bronze strings are well suited to most any style of steel string acoustic playing. They work equally well for flat-picking, finger-style, folk strumming and even country and rock tunes. Elixir acoustic 80/20 bronze strings will last for many hours with consistently good, warm tone. Their phosphor bronze strings are also suitable for many styles of music. Phosphor bronze strings have a more nuanced and warm tone than 80/20 bronze. Many guitarists prefer the warmth and richness of phosphor bronze. Just like Elixir acoustic 80/20 Bronze strings, Elixir phosphor bronze strings are great for flat picking, finger style, and strumming.
