Best strings--long life with great tone
December 22, 2020
Been through a lot of acoustic strings playing bluegrass. Used to change after every gig. Now 3 or 4 gigs with a lot of practice time in between.

Really, really like these strings

On a lark, thought I'd try out a set EB Aluminum Bronze strings on my Collings D2H. Had been using primarily D'addario EJ-19 PB's (which are nice strings themselves) but was looking for a change of pace. Wow! Quite a change. Great range, resonance and sustain. A bit "stickier" than the D'addario's, but got used to the change in feel quickly. Still to be seen as to durability and "holding their tone", but as of now, quite pleased with them. If you're a dread fan as I am, they're definitely worth a look.
Range, sustain, overall tone
A little "rough", even compared to other uncoated strings, but you'll get past it quickly.

Amazing strings

In my opinion, these are the best, hands down, acoustic strings you can get. They are so natural sounding. They wear well and the sound doesn't "deaden" out quickly. I have heavy hands and sweat A LOT, these last. Before these strings, John Pierce was my go to but the "new sound" would go away after the first play or rehearsal. With EB aluminum bronze, I can go through a two hour rehearsal and show with virtually no change in tone. I usually change them every gig but lately have gone two or three gigs with virtually no change in string tone. I play them on a Gibson J-100. Their demo video is spot on, unaltered. Its exactly what you will experience
