DR Tight fit .010
These are the best strings I've used in my 58 years of playing electric guitar. They last a long time, have great sustain and tone, balanced power and excellent gauging.

DR Tite Fit MT10
I was given these strings by a co-worker; an audio and lighting specialist. They were left by a musician performing at our facility. No surprise: I would walk away from these strings too. I give these a generous three star rating only due to the fact that they tune in fairly well with little stretch. That's the good side. The feel to me is mushy, the tone unimpressive. Tuning after that seems rather unstable, always needing to be fine tuned. When strings sound like this, it's when I know it's time to change the strings. I've tried many different brands of strings; I am not going to drop names on this review. All I will say is, I would not buy these strings for my guitars.

Maybe for some, but not for everyone
I went from some other brand of strings to these on an Ej Strat playing slow blues and some rock. I was shocked at how dull these are in comparison. The others had great sustain and sweet musicality. These feel and sound hard. Maybe that is the Tite-Fit, but to me it sounded and felt like I bought wire at a hardware store and strung my guitar with it. With the others, the high E broke on a bend. I hate that, but I rather that after a week or two then the sound of these.

Tone of the MT's
Great strings and feel--good rock strings. Tried the heavier gauge JH10's and although a good string I did not get the sound and tones I was looking for.

My #1 electric string
The DR Tite-Fit MT10 set has become my favorite string over the last decade or so. I've been playing 54 years, and the DR electric string gives me the best tone, feel, gauges, intonation and sustain. They also resist breaking and stay fresh longer than any other string I've tried, so in addition, they are a good bargain.

Consistently Excellent.
DR's are my favorite rock string, hands down. Every so often, I'll try something else... but I always wind up going back to DR almost immediately.

DR Tite-Fit 10-46
I love DR strings! Nothing else compares to their tone or longevity.
I can't play anything else anymore.

I buy a separate 9.5 size string to use instead of the 10 for easier bending.

Tite-FitÔ

"Tite-Fit round-wound nickel plated electric guitar strings are designed to be a great all-around string. They are available in a wide range of gauges. Based upon a round core, the construction techniques for the Tite-Fit electrics are very old. However, the core wire and wrap wire in DR's are the latest, most advanced and expensive metals available. For flexibility, for tone, for long life; for rock, blues, heavy metal, jazz… Tite-fits are an incredible all-around string.

DR Strings

"From the first handmade strings DR made for Marcus Miller and Jeff Healey (both of whom have played DR's for over six years), to our latest development, the remarkable ZEBRA electric-acoustic strings, DR HandMade Strings approaches sound and string design differently from other makers… we are all players. The secret to the way we make DR strings is the word "slow." No other company we know makes strings one at a time, so very slowly and carefully. Quality of sound is paramount… along with the highest possible specifications for materials. Longevity and durability are our next concerns. We are NOT a high speed, mass production company. We have an elaborate quality control system.

For a relatively new company, we have been embraced by a surprising number of "Legends and Masters" of guitar and bass. A partial list of DR endorsees includes Sting, Marcus Miller, Jeff Healey, Adam Clayton of U2, Warren Haynes of GOV'T MULE and THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND, Jonas Hellborg, Bo Diddley, "Skunk" Baxter, Victor Bailey, Steve Kaufman, Percy Jones, Darryl Jones of THE ROLLING STONES, Rick Derringer, Mick Karnes, Andreas Kisser, Max Cavalera, & Paulo Jr. of SEPULTURA, Birelli Legren, Trey Anastasio and Mick Gordon of PHISH, SMASHING PUMPKINS, Gary Tallent, Tony Franklin, Ty Tabor & Doug Pinnock of KING'S X, Dimebag Darrell of PANTERA, Scott Ian, Paul Crook, & Frank Bello of ANTHRAX, Stefan Lessard with THE DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, Peter Rowan, Shawn Lane, Paul Pesco Matt Freeman with RANCID, Per Gessle of ROXETTE, Sharlee D'Angelo of MERCYFUL FATE, and VERUCA SALT.

DR Strings are made with more metal than one realizes at first. By way of example, before a .042 gauge DR string is carefully wound, core wire and wrap wire that total .043 are prepared. After a process we call "Compression-Winding", a DR string that gauges a .042 is produced.

The ratios and principles of "TITE-FIT" / "Compression-Winding" are used for the specifications and manufacture of all DR strings. At DR we craft our strings at tension. The following is one example of how the DR wrap/ratio formula works… in this case for .042's. Core wire is .016, wrap wire is .0135 x 2 (top and bottom covers). Total material gauges .043 before winding and .042 after winding."
