Best kept secret on the market. Hands down they have the best tone...from the deepest bass to the snap and clarity of the highs. To all of the DR Fans out there the SR2000 is the better string...that's right I said it...the SR2000 is like a hybrid, with the "in yo face" slap tone of the LowRiders, but with the clarity of the HighBeams when playing finger-style. Currrently used on my Fender Jazz 5QMT, and my Cirrus Redwood 6.

Dean Markley SR2000
I have a 5 string Ibanez I bought for $150. I was using this for open mics where I was the house bass player, and it got a lot of use. When I decided on new strings I wanted DMs because of some Blue Steels I've had in the past, but I wanted something with a deeper tone than I have used in the past. These really fit the bill, because I can get a deep, boomy sound from them or boost it up and get a twang from them. I went into a studio with a friend who wanted to lay down some tracks and took this bass with the new strings because I knew I would be able to give him whatever sound he asked for. The tension is really light and I had to readjust the bridge to compensate and not get any buzzing. But the sound is fantastic. Now, to see if they hold out as long as the Blue Steels. But for this price, a great 5 string set!
