D'A basses

Looks like I'm going back to this set of basses for my Cordoba Hauser. They seem to have a slight bit more punch than Aranjuez, and Savarez basses. The Aran and Sav basses are still very good tho, and I may keep those for my other guitars. You need to experiment with different types to find the set that's best for your guitar, and sometimes what works best on one guitar may not be the same for another guitar.

D'Addario Pro-Arte

I've had pretty good luck with these strings in the past , but in the latest set, I got a bad D string. It gave untrue tone and intonation from the time I installed it. At a couple of locations along the fingerboard I was getting not quite a wolf tone, but a secondary, non-harmonic frequency almost as strong as the intended tone. I checked the string for broken wrap and broken core, but could find no flaws in the structure. Disappointing, since where I live, no one sells singles in nylon. I still like D'Addario and use them on all my electrics, but this set let me down.
