This is an ok string at best. It has a solid steel core with an aluminum winding. Its tension is 42 pounds at pitch, much higher than the rest of the strings. Consequently, the sound is bright and LOUD, much louder that the other strings. It's very hard to control the volume on this thing. I wrap and tie a rubber band around it near the bridge to tame the overtones a bit. I've been using the string in my NS CR6 for a couple of years now, so I've gotten somewhat used to it by now. However, I just discovered the Larsen, Jargar and Thomastik Spirocore all make a high e. So I'm going to give those a try. If you insist on using this string, I recommend adding a compressor to your rig, to control the sudden spike in volume, or you can do the rubber band trick.
