Warmer tone, softer feel, slightly less tension

I love these nickel bronze strings. The tone is warmer, they feel softer to the touch & there's ever so slightly string tension, just enough that it's a little easier on the hands. I just put some J74s on again, after using these for a few months & they sounded brighter (I'm tempted to say harsher) & felt a little harder to play. The difference is real.
ProsWarmer tone, softer feel, slightly less string tension. Cool retro look.
ConsMore than half again the price of basic phosphor bronze J74s.

Nickle Bronze for me

I really enjoyed the tone of these strings on my new Montana Lutherie mandolin. The tone was different from PB strings, not bad but deeper. I am still on the hunt for the perfect strings and these are in the top 3, so far.
ProsThey have a lovely tone.
