Beautiful clear crisp tone
I am an amateur player, mainly home and church. I read the reviews and I agree, the tone is excellent. My wife, of 31 years, says the tone is "less harsh" than my old strings (not named). If she thinks they are good that's good enough for me. from tropical Trinidad and Tobago. Thanks DAD_EXP74.

Great string but broken loops issue
These strings have a great tone and last a long time between changes. Love the feel, easy on the fingers. The tone is why I keep coming back to them even with the broken loop issue. Last order a replacement was sent but it was the incorrect string...good thing I ordered 2 sets but am now short another A string. Have learned to handle them very gently but sometimes they are broken right in the package.

EXP-74
I've used the EXP-74's for several years now at the recommendation of a touring professional... The strings have a nice soft feel and a tone to die for... Plus, I also do NOT like to change strings and the EXP series lasts a good long while even when playing the hot, outdoor festivals. These strings are the best...

EXP74 mandolin strings
These are good strings. I am into music as a hobby since I retired as a sailor so I can't give you an opinion that a professional musician would give you but to me, they are excellent strings.

D'Adario
These (EXP74) strings have been great for recording and live performance. Excellent tone and balance throughout the entire register. They've been extremely consistent and stay sounding great for a long time. This is is good for me since I don't enjoy changing strings on my mandolin.

"D'Addario's banjo sets are available in light and medium gauges, with a nickel-plated wound 4th string. Our bluegrass set is offered with a phosphor bronze-wound 4th string for extra brilliance and sustain. A complete range of mandolin-family strings is available, as well as various string lines for dulcimer, ukulele, tenor guitar, country fiddle, cuatro, oud, and bouzouki. D'Addario prides itself on offering quality strings for every popular stringed instrument available. Unfortunately, economic reasons and a lack of technical information prevent us from carrying stock sets for certain obscure or special instruments. Custom designed and manufactured strings can be made for a reasonable cost, presuming accurate specifications about the instrument can be provided."
