I've been buying this set of strings from this vendor for the past 3 years. My guitars are 27 in scale length and there is ZERO problems with any string reaching the pegs.

Longevity, I decided I would play a set of these until one broke. My last string change was in June and its December now. I changed them because I couldn't take it anymore not because of a break. and I play 3 hours daily!

These gauges are on the heavy side, when you think about the fact that the 7-string 10s go from .010 to .059. That being said, they sound fantastic, and make the fretboard feel cleaner to play due to higher tension and less flopping. Really a significant improvement in both feel and sonic clarity over the D'Addario 7-string set on my instrument. For whatever reason, my action and intonation were largely unaffected by the switch in gauges. No need for a re-setup.

One major problem: the .074 8th string is not long enough! It would barely be adequate for a 26.5" scale, as listed on the package, because the outer wrap ends very early. This helps if you have a 25.5 or 26" scale instrument and the tuning machine's hole is not large enough for a .074. But if, like me, your instrument is 28" scale or longer, the wrap ends before the nut. You then have to use a bass string for the lowest string. Frustrating!
