Electric feel on Acoustic guitar
December 17, 2021
Great sound and feel. The wound 3rd string greatly improves intonation on acoustic guitars with a non-adjustable bridge.

A terrific, , long-lasting string set

I find the D'Addario EXL115W set to be excellent; in fact, I use this set on an archtop, a semi-hollow and an acoustic/electric hybrid. The wound third string adds richness to chording and best of all, they feel and sound great - whether playing fingerstyle or with a pick.
Price, quality, feel and sound are all None!

EXL115W strings

This set sounds fabulous on my Strat -- seems to put the chimey single-coil sound right out there. Yes, the wound third is fragile, so order some extras. This set sounds so good that it's worth it to bust a third now and then.

These strings rock!

My Acoustasonic Tele came with these strings, and I'm just going to stick with them, they feel great and sound good, not to mention they last long! I have had this guitar for a year now, and have never had the wound 3rd string come apart, so I am guessing the reviewer who mentioned that may need to look at their bridge situation or just got a flook...

I have always been a 10's kind of guy, but I am considering setting up my other electric guitars for these strings, too!

JustStrings.com helped me locate them (not available in any shops around here) and will be my source for them for a long time!

I really like these particular strings. They are ideal for my G&L S500, which tends to sound too bright with other string formulations, and the gauge (and wound 3rd) are exactly right for my aggressive bend technique and preferred whammy tension. Just a nice clean sound and consistent feel. And they last pretty well, too -- after the initial twang wears off, the tone and feel are stable for several weeks (of course, your mileage will vary).

I use these strings on my Taylor T-5 and I absolutely love them. The wound 3rd string helps to give it a more acoustical sound. I have tried many other strings, but these are by far the best strings I've used so far. I definetly recommend these strings !!

While I love these strings there seems to be a problem with the G sting unwinding or opening up. I really hope this is just a freak thing ..cause I really like 'em.
