No Squeak!

I bought these to eliminate the squeak when moving across strings and was not disappointed! They also hold the tone very well.

D'Addario Flat Tops Acoustic Strings
March 13, 2022
Wanted an acoustic string set without the heavy knurling that is common on the low end strings. Tired of the fret wear that it produces over time. Found D'Addario Flat Tops. Very smooth strings, similar to the GHS Brite Flats electric sets in knurling/feel. Sound great. Gentle on the frets when compared to other brands. Would recommend giving them a try.
Well-crafted Smooth Easy on fingertips Less fret wear Slightly expensive Will require more cleaning/maintenance to extend the life of the strings; reduce cost

These strings accomplish the sound and ease of playing that I was looking to get. I have been using D'Addario strings for years. For my use they are the best strings made.

These are fine strings to start with. But the flat tops mean you can slide all over the the lowers without making a sound like dragging the stylus across a record or dragging a metal garbage can from the door to the curb.

As prices go these days, the flat tops are not cheap. But they're not prohibitive either. And they take a pretty long time to get to the point where you absolutely HAVE to change them. Plus everything you need to know about tension and gauges and the color of the ball ends is on the package.

I've been a Just Strings customer for a long time. They keep their word about fast shipping and they get it right the first time.
Sound good. Last long. When you slide up or down the neck, all you hear are the notes. None.

High Quality - Guilt Free Recycling

For the money, these X lites are as good as any. D'Addario has gone the extra mile with their string recycling program. I no longer feel bad about what happens to worn out strings.
Easy on the fingers. Excellent tone. Best when playing solo so everyone can hear. Maybe too light for flat picking and not loud enough to stand up to a fiddle or banjo.

I have neuropathy and need a very light gauge without sacrificing tone. These strings did the trick for me!

Excellent guitar strings. I finger pick and love the tone and lack of noise from moving my fingers over the strings.

My object was to reduce string noise and it worked. Obviously, these aren't as bright as phosphor bronze, but they have a great tone and are plenty loud enough for acoustic. The big plus is the plugged in sound. Way less string noise and plenty of tone with a little EQ.

Special feeling! Need adaptation! You've got to prepare/train your ears.
Maybe great for soloing on an Ac Guitar in a Fusion context !

"In 1974, D'Addario pioneered the use of phosphor bronze wire for the winding of acoustic guitar strings. D'Addario phosphor bronze strings were an instant and enduring success. A more costly alloy, phosphor bronze was widely known as a durable, long-lasting material used in machine bushings and bearings. After months of searching, a wire company was located that agreed to make sample wires for testing on music strings. The results made history. D'Addario phosphor bronze strings are bright sounding and retain their brilliance longer than other bronze and brass alloys.

Round wound phosphors are available in 6 different gauges for 6 string guitar, 3 gauges for 12 string, and 4 gauges in the Flat Tops series. Flat Tops are round wound phosphor bronze strings that are lightly polished to reduce finger noise and fret wear, and are an excellent choice for noise-fee recording. Phosphor Bronze strings are available in both environmental and standard packaging."
