D'Addario Electric Guitar Chrome Strings
August 11, 2021
These strings are excellent--they make my guitar sound compelling. Play them loud or play them soft, they give a solid, definitive sound. The strings stay in tune and seem to keep their good qualities longer than you would expect.

Great way to get a smooth sound

These feel different since I have never played flat wound strings before. They have a mellow sound and feel. I tried one set on a Strat and will try them on a Les Paul next.
ProsSmooth feel, mellow low tones, less finger noise, they bend just like any other string.
ConsNo pick scraping but that?s okay.

Great For Playing Slide!
April 22, 2021
I read somewhere that Duane Allman used flat wound strings on his Gibson SG for playing slide; he was right! It is much easier to get that snake-like feel that Duane had. I do not expect to go back to round wound strings. Give them a try!

Very dependable

I got the order pretty quickly, even this particular guage is almost never found in music stores. When mounting the first set of strings, the third (.020w) was defective; bad winding job I think. It sounded like a sitar! Fortunately, I had ordered the three-pack, so I robbed a replacement from one of the other sets. This was the string manufacturer, not Just Strings.

Unsurpassed in tone & feel

I have 4 electric guitars and use these ECG-23's on all of them. They last a long time and the tonal response is unsurpassed. I've tried many strings in my 60 years of playing and found these to be the best for me. Easy on the fingers too!
