They feel great to play, and our sound man literally said, “Your bass sounds delicious.” Can’t make that up. Our guitarist said, “ Your tone is awesome.”
For a point of reference, I use them in a P&W band and we play the modern stuff with a full band. We all go direct and use in-ear monitors. I use a Tech 21 Para Driver as my DI with a little compression.
Playability, just enough top end for me.

Needed extra long to fit my guitar and these fit the bill.
Great feel - smooth
Great full sound
Was a little surprised that I had to drill out one of my peg holes just a hair to fit the ?B? string, but it did work

I had been a round wound user for almost 30 years and I tried these on a recommendation from a friend on Talk Bass about a year ago. I play in a classic rock cover band and we're active in the clubs in Denver.
Simply put, these strings are perfect for what I do. They make the band sound bigger. My bass tone retains enough of the top end with these strings, but it has a much bigger fundamental tone to it than if did with any of the round wounds I ever used. I can dig into them with a pick and make them rock or play them finger style and mellow them right out. I'm never switching.
A lot of players using flats like them totally dead, I prefer them with their newer sound, so I change them about every six months to get my sound, still WAY less than I had to with rounds.

Before these I tried GHS Pressurewound and Brite Flats for my fretless, Those were a disappointment, not only were they not very smooth, but on the pressurewounds the B was dead, and on the Brite Flats the B and the E were dead, and not well balanced with the last three strings.
These are smooth, and every string is bright with some to spare. I might even put these on my fretted bass!

The D'Addario Chromes Flatwound bass strings I ordered from you guys are just wonderful. They sound very solid on stage & in the studio. There is NO finger on the string noise. None. I couldn't ask for more. JustStrings service was prompt & on the money......Thanks, Guys
