Cleartone PB 13's
These may be the worst strings I have tried in over 40 years of playing. I just put a set on a '63 J-50 and they took all the life out of that guitar. They are dead sounding and toneless, which would make them perfect for a Taylor, but not a real guitar. The strings have a coarse feel and do not play smoothly whether changing chords or sliding from fret to fret. If you want to try a coated string, go for the Elixir Nanowebs - better tone, smoother feel and way more playable.

Worth the Expense
Lasts about 4-6 times longer than regular phosphor-bronze. Tone does not die. PERFECT for those who do not play often but want to sound good when they go.
I used to have Elixirs, but those felt like a compromise, these do not.

These are the best strings
I love these strings! They are the best strings for consistently bright vibrant, but rich tone. They last a long time. I have yet to have a bad set.

Cleartone Acoustic Strings may have a coating of only one micron, but it's more durable than coatings thousands of times its thickness. It won't flake off with hard playing, nor will it feel slick or slippery to your touch. Super-high tension winding over a hex-core is used to maintain tuning consistency throughout your performance. EMP Treatment is then applied to all the strings (including plain strings) to ensure longest tonal life without compromises.
