Nicely Balanced Strings, Mellow but Dynamic
December 8, 2022
I use these on my Martin D-16E. Tone is nicely balanced across strings. Heavier than I normally use but the tone blends really well in my trio (playing old country, Beatles, 80s, etc. etc.). These also seem to be hard to find, so I love being able to go to just strings.com and finding these kinds of options.

Monel Strings

I decided to try these on my Collings D2HA. At first I was a little skeptical, and tried a set of D'Addario's after my first set of Monels. Then went back to the Monels after that. Strings are a very personal taste kind of thing, and I have to say I have finally found the strings that are perfect for this guitar. It is exactly the sound I want. They even last a long time compared to other non-coated strings. They don't die immediately. They seem to fade slowly at the end of their life, but certainly last longer. I have not tried them with any electronics. Purely acoustic, and primarily bluegrass flatpicking and related jazz and blues tunes. Hard to beat the price here too. I will be buying these in bulk on a regular basis here now. If you are a flatpicker, and you like a nice woody tone that isn't too bright or too flat, you should give these a try.

Simply amazing

Not knowing what to expect from these strings because they are so new, I was blown away by the tone. I have them on a 000-18 style custom guitar I built with 24.9" scale length, 1 3/4" nut, 2 1/4" bridge string spacing. Strings play like lights on this guitar. Simply amazing.

Wow! Tried out these strings for the first time on my Martin D18 Vintage Special Guitar. The thing just opened up responding excellently to flatpicking, rhythm and finger style playing. I am now ordering more of these outstanding strings and will be putting them on all my acoustic guitars that are built to take medium gauge.
