Bandolin Strings
What is a bandolin? A guitar, a mandolin, or something in between? Played in Portuguese folk music and regions of Brazil, the bandolin is a hybrid of a guitar, mandolin and lute that can be played for chordal accompaniment or with tremolo sustain similar to a mandolin. As a trusted source of hard-to-find instrument strings, we carry La Bella bandolin strings that provide the tonal balance and bright, crisp sound ideal for both rhythm and tremolo playing.
La Bella’s bandolin string set feature 15 strings for a typical bandolin tuning. The upper courses feature three plain steel strings, and the bottom course feature three silver-wound, steel core strings. Although it’s tuned similarly to a standard guitar’s tuning, the bandolin does not have the high E-string course.
