Sfarzo Alloy 5109 Electric, .010 - .046, 5109E600Greg KJune 4, 20115 stars, because they are the best strings I have used. I've tried so many since 1975. I've used them on two guitars, and with great success. It was a toss up between alloy 52 and these. Both of These newer materials have better tonal properties than nickel and plain steel. They are louder, stronger and have better harmonic balance. The 5109's seem slightly more slinky than the 52's. The Teflon coat is done very well. It doesn't wear off, or cause slippage during bends. They applied top-fuel dragster tech and came up with a winner. 5109 sounds a bit smoother in the upper mids than 52, which could be the Teflon. They sound almost identical electrically, even with my low wind-count single coils. The Teflon closed the deal for me.
