A sales man at my local music shop SOLD me on them years ago. The store has since refused to stock them so I am thankful to find them online. I can say you will not want to use other strings after these have been on your guitar. The strings resonate and sing better then the standard brands even after they are long dead. When I was no longer able to get the strings, I regretfully restrung my guitar with new strings that sounded worn out compared to the 6 month old and very used Pyramids I pulled off. At this point it doesn't seem worth putting strings on my guitar unless they are Pyramids. If it matters I play a very nice US Strat and run it through a black face Fender Bassman, Blues Deluxe, Blues Jr, or Gibson GA-15rv. I think that the amps bring out the quality of the strings, so if you run a solid state or other cheaper amp, the strings may not be as important as an amp upgrade for you. I also highly recommend the Pyramid acoustic strings on better quality guitars. Of course, remember that if your set up is not able to reproduce the frequencies, the strings won't matter as much. So save up for better tools, it is worth it.
