Want to know what other players are saying about these new GPX Carbon Fiber Trebles? Here are some comments from the Delcamp.net Classical Guitar Forum:
"Initial reaction - WOW!!! The G (3rd) string doesn't sound tubby at all, and the rest of the treble strings are very brilliant, yet not lacking in warmth and resonance. Intonation was very, very good and I would buy these in a heartbeat. It will be interesting to see how long they last - in the past I have changed strings every 2 weeks and the trebles would be worn and showed indentations at the frets (ok maybe I press too hard).
Keep up the good work.
Tom"
"Hmmm.....
Tried them on 2 quite different guitars, a Ramirez 2N-E (cedar) and a Yamaha CG171SF (spruce). What was most intereting? The warm, dusky sound of these strings came through on both. The 3 trebles are clear and bright with a hint of sweetness. I am still exploring, but I find that I can produce a wider palette of sounds on both instruments.
Overall impression is really good. I like the packaging, and I cannot say why, but I found these strings really easy to install neatly.
Best regards,
cancon"
"To put it simply, I'm in LOVE. After only using high tension for the last few years, these strings feel and sound great allowing a greater range of tonal expression than the high tension. My biggest problem is that I also loved what happened when I tried the Oasis high tension strings.
I definitely feel Dave has come up with the best strings for my spruce top, whether high or normal tension. After years of trying different brands, I can now lay that issue to bed as I am an Oasis carbon string convert, no ifs, ands, or buts. With the richness of these normal strings which produce the same full volume or even more that other high tension strings, and given the expression and playability, I think I'll go back to normal tension.
On the question of the longevity of Oasis carbon trebles, the high tension strings were the longest lasting strings I've ever had. If these normal tension strings last half as long I'll be happy.
Hans"
