Newtone Master Class Electro-Acoustic acoustic strings have phosphor bronze E, A & D strings and a nickel wound G, all on round cores. The advantage of using nickel for the G string is an improved transition in tone from the warmer sounding phosphor bronze to the bright plain steel of the B and high E strings. They give you a gradual change in brightness when strumming rather than the sometimes jarring contrast between bronze and plain steel strings. These strings are popular with both electric and slide players. Very important: Do not cut these wound strings to a desired length without first making a sharp bend into the string behind the cutting point or until the string is secured and tuned to pitch. Without either of these, the string will unravel.
