Elixir Acoustic Guitar Light NanoWeb Coating, .012 - .053, 110525CrabmeatSeptember 25, 2009Elixir definitely outlast everybody else, lasting at least 3 times as long. G STRINGS ALWAYS BREAK FIRST! Think about it. It's the thinnest wound string.
Elixir Acoustic Guitar Light NanoWeb Coating, .012 - .053, 110523antisoxSeptember 13, 2009I agree about the G-string problem, it is definitely a flaw with the g strings themselves as I have had the g string break prematurely and often. Once, I had a set of Elixirs on two guitars, broke a g-string in the middle of a set, switched to my other guitar and 2 minutes later, the g string broke on that. There is definitely a problem here and not with the guitars (as it happens on every one of my guitars from the $800 range to $2200 range). I love the tone and life, but the breakage problem has steered me away from this brand.
Elixir Acoustic Guitar Light NanoWeb Coating, .012 - .053, 110525Gil SomersSeptember 4, 2009Our whole family plays both in gigs and jam session with many other musicians. We find that the Elixir strings allow us to play multiple sessions for weeks and therby decrease the expense of constantly having to change strings.
Elixir Acoustic Guitar Light NanoWeb Coating, .012 - .053, 110525Jeff VargaAugust 15, 2009I play alot. About 200 or more dates a years all over and these are the best strings by far. They last longer and sound the best of any other strings I have ever tried. They were recommeded to me by a guitar tech for the Indigo Girls and Tracy Chapman. As for the G string problem in aformentioned review, that is a guitar problem not the strings fault. Like I stated I have played hard and soft and never ever broken a G string with the Elixirs. Great product and JustStrings delivers right away - a great combiniation. Thank you to JustStrings for their service.
Elixir Acoustic Guitar Light NanoWeb Coating, .012 - .053, 110525Wayne JordanAugust 14, 2009I've been using Elixirs for close to 10 years now. they have several benefits. but one big weakness. They are easy on the fingers and they maintain good sound qulaity for a very long time. This is especially helpful in places like a beach town where the salt air can kill strings quickly. The one major problem is that the G strings break often and easily. I seldom have broken a G string on any other brand, but frequently with Elixir. I've had many experiences of menitoning the brand and immediately having someone ask me if I've also had the problem with the G stirngs. Worse yet, I've written to Elixir and they never respond. I have not found a competing product that can match the benefits of Elixir. But I hate supporting the company due to the negative experiences I've had.

Elixir Acoustic Guitar Light NanoWeb Coating, .012 - .053, 110525Shaun WilsonAugust 14, 2009I've been playing now for about 10 years. I also teach beginner lessons individually and in groups. I first like Elixir strings because they didn't torture my fingers as quickly as regular strings. Later I started trying other strings because the price of Elixirs seemed high to me. Consistently the other strings broke quicker and definitely hurt my fingers more. I play in Church and it is pretty annoying and potentialy distracting to those deep in worship when a string breaks in the middle of a worship time. I like the tone of the strings as well. They seem to accentuate the traditional depth and bass tones of my Martin. I may play others in the future, but I have a feeling it would just remind me why I like Elixirs!
